About The Workshop
Any attempt at growing something from seed or sprout is sure to develop a deeper connection to nature. Whether successful or not, gardening supports nurturing qualities, hard work and dedication. Many of us feel that you need a green thumb to plant a successful garden. This workshop will encourage, educate and demonstrate that simplicity is the key to any gardening adventure; start small and ‘grow’ from there.
Gardening provides many opportunities for natural learning to occur all year long, including therapeutic elements and immunal response benefits. We will study the planning and building of garden beds, germinating and planting seeds, observing and caring for a plant’s growth, harvesting, garden clean-up and the succession of the garden through the seasons. The magical part of this real-life skill is that it allows for learning and connections to flourish from year to year, leaving lasting impressions and limitless opportunities.
Learning Outcomes
- Understanding the basic elements of a successful garden or gardening experience and the therapeutic benefits of horticulture.
