Background
We were presented with the opportunity to design and build the natural playground area when the City of Greeley was seeking options for better stormwater management resulting in a full park rebuild.
Overview
The Woodbriar Park Renovation Project improved an existing 7-acre neighbourhood community park to include flood control storage and natural play spaces. The park features these new enhancements:
- Natural creek channel day-lit from previously piped flow
- Nature playground utilizing on-site park materials
- Interactive creek “diversion plaza” including a Parshall flume, slide gate, diversion runnels, and interpretive artwork
- Sustainable landscape conversion to reduce irrigation consumption and increase biodiversity within the park
