St. Gregory The Great Catholic Elementary School

Overview:

This school opted for natural playgrounds in their kindergarten and child care areas. Replacing the boring standard of flat asphalt interrupted by an occasional stunted tree or painted yellow line, these playgrounds feature opportunities to play and learn for every type of child. Following our design mantra of “more is more”, these playgrounds feature unique wooden climbers, massive sand areas, shade from over 40 new trees, a gardening space, outdoor classrooms and more. Scattered throughout the spaces are innovative outdoor storage cabinets that contain even more opportunities for play, and curriculum materials that allow educators to use the space for far more than just recess.
