Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden

Coral Gables, Florida

Overview:

Bruce Greer of Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden connected with Adam Bienenstock in an effort to develop a portion of the multi-acre gardens where Children could connect with nature on a sensory level. The project utilizes South Florida’s native flora in an impressive manner with large tree trunks, limestone boulders and caves, and a multi-level landscape of various substrates. The children’s garden at Fairchild is a veritable sensory buffet for children to engage with nature and develop their sensory skills with natural playground components.

In the Children’s Garden at Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden, kids of all ages will experience a fun and playful learning environment that encourages interaction with the natural world. Our commitment to connecting plants and people extends to the natural playground design of the Children’s Garden by creating a magical place using only natural materials and calling to mind the sights, sounds and smells of nature all while your children play in the outdoors. We believe this connection to plants and outdoor play for children is crucial, and we are committed to creating a transformative, immersive experience that will nurture a life-long commitment to plants and nature.
