Bienenstock Natural Playgrounds worked with the team at Brightpath CrossPoint Child Care Centre to create a sensory-rich outdoor learning environment for their child care space. Known formerly as EduKids CrossPoint, the outdoor space at this child care centre is chalk-full of sensory engagement opportunities. The layout at CrossPoint consists of “lobes” of different sensory development opportunities; from the motor planning, climbing, and jumping log area and hillslide to the creative, contemplative and learning zones full of sand and water play, robust planting boxes, activity tables and mud kitchens, chalkboards and curriculum cabinets. The space is a varietal sensory wonderland with something to o er children seeking engagement with their environment.
